Car Insurance Auctions?

car-insurance.jpgiphone, ipod, wii, all normal ebay trends… but car insurance? Who’s looking to buy car insurance on ebay? Who sells car insurance on ebay? I can’t imagine insurance companies would appreciate getting the minimum bid of $0.99 for an auction after they only get 10 visits. The only auctions I can find are for car insurance websites, and for “free” quotes from insurance companies. Maybe people are looking for esurance.com and end up at ebay instead? Both start with that all important e. Or is it that people these days think of ebay as a search engine? This is quite the stumper. Maybe ebay just has a high ratio of idiots, I know some of the feedback I’ve seen supports this theory, “NOT HONEST, BE AFRAID !!! HES LIAR!”

Transcendental Meditation

maharishi.jpgI am torn; while I am sick of American Idol influencing my daily trends posts, I am at the same time happy to see “jai guru deva om” as the #1 search term tonight. I love The Beatles, and “Across the Universe” is a great song. While “jai guru deva om” might make good lyrics for a trippy 60’s song, I can’t help but imagine how it must be confusing for today’s kids, as they hear the song being butchered on American Idol. For the protection of children, I would like to suggest to the Fox Network that they censor all transcendental meditation mantras in the future. Who knows what kind of crazy Maharishi-led cult might be recruiting through subliminal television messages. The only way to be certain your children are safe, is to censor television, and that letter writing campaign isn’t going to start itself! Get to work!

world-wide-web.jpgWhat is with people searching for a URL?  Wouldn’t you rather cut out the middle man, go nuts, and just type the address into the actual address bar, rather than your firefox search box, or homepage search field?  Maybe it’s a basic misunderstanding of how the internet works.  I know up until last year, certain relatives of mine thought that AOL was the Internet - apparently this isn’t an uncommon occurrence.  So, I will take this time to make it very clear to people - google is not the internet.  Google is not your only gateway to the internet.  AOL is not the internet, neither is yahoo, or msn.  You have the ability to navigate directly to web sites by typing their URLs into the address bar of your browser.  Thank you.

2days kidz R TMTH

lol-candy.jpgTMTH? I don’t even know what that means - definitely can’t pass this one up. You know you’re getting old when you don’t recognize a texting abbreviation (”too much to handle”, for you elders like me). Why the christ is TMTH in the #1 trends spot? Has LOL finally been bumped off of it’s throne as the king of texting abbrevations? Is RFLMAO ancient history? Back in the day before cell phones had fancy SMS, and before AIM was the reigning champion of text clients, ICQ ruled the day, and we online chatters used humble, down to earth abbreviations like afk, brb, and cya. TMTH is hard to type and ugly, and frankly, I don’t like seeing it on the google trends list at all - let’s hope it’s gone tomorrow.
